PLEASE FIND BELOW FEEDBACK FROM OUR CARDIFF SGP PRESENTATION

Star Lady
Wonderful win for Crumpy, welcome back mate.
Highlight for me, apart from that, was the Millenium Stadium version of Land of Hope and Glory. The playing and timing of that was inspired. From what I could hear the music was spot on all night and it drowned out the dreaded air horns, or was that the confiscation of all non official ones Not entirely sure that Bomber was fit to race following that crash but you can't knock him for it.
Track was carp, referee was atrocious and needs to be sacked, that apart and ignoring anything to do with English language assassin Ermolenko it was a thoroughly enjoyable GP

Figersfin
Really enjoyed this (bottle of wine helped).
Referee - Pitiful
Track - Usual Cardiff, ruts providing the thrills and spills. a shame as Copenhagen proves that the concept can fully deliver
Presentaton - From my view on the couch, the musical choice seemed fantastic, with the walk of Harris providing a genuine TV moment, the flame throwers looked great as well
Crowd - Looked pretty similar to last year, but as always will be open to debate
Race of the night - The Brits relegating NP.
and Scott you tube!!!
Anyway game on.........

Midnight Lady
Had a tear in my eye (and I am Scottish ) when Land of Hope and Glory was played and the crowd getting involved whilst Bomber was walking back to the pits.

Wackie
From what I could hear, thought the musical choices were excellent.
Land of Hope & Glory was brilliant hairs standing on end stuff, but the pièce de résistance was the first semi final when Bjarne got wrongly excluced. Don't know if the music was aimed at the Ref or NP but I nearly spat my JD out when I heard When the sun goes down by the Arctic Monkeys blasting out........
"And what a scummy man
Just give him half a chance
I bet he'll rob you if he can"
and
"Cause he's a scumbag, don't you know, I said he's a scumbag, don't you know"

Paul R
Great atmosphere tonight - some good tongue in cheek choices of snippets of music too - it will be a bit of a comedown to go to Brandon on Friday after tonight.

Shortoi
have to agree about the music!! Very amusing.
Personal favourites "I get knocked down, but I get up again, you ain't never gonna keep me down..."
"Hey, sarrah, sarrah, whatever will be, will be..."
Fat Bottomed Girls! What the..? Love it!
"I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike..."
Some excellent song choices, and some rather bizarre ones in the mix too!

D.I.G
The music choice was great, I still wonder why we English have to put up with the Dirge of the National Anthem instead of the arousing Land of Hope and Glory, the P.C. brigade again no doubt, no wonder we win so little in International events. Feel sorry for Scotty he always seems to make a cock up , when the pressure is on, and Bomber showed true Britt Grit in getting up and carrying on, not like the mamby pamby football stars.
Thank you again Cardiff for providing a superb piece of entertainment, Please Please dont the the we want Wembley brigade win out over the British G. P. or better still let us have two G.Ps. with one of them at the end of the competition.

T.N.T
Have to say the choice of music was great
When Nicki was having his accidents, the music was "Bad Boys, Bad Boys .. What you gonna do" then "He's a Scumbag" .
Jason Crump won a race ..."We're off to see the Wizard .... The Wonderful Wizard of Oz"
As for the crowd, I would say it was up on last year. The home straight had plenty of seats on the upper level free, but otherwise the stadium was pretty full, so I would estimate close to 45-50,000 there.

Paul
Went to Cardiff, a great night, super presentation.

Matt K
I don't care about the track, these are "supposed" to be the best rider in the World, they should be able to ride some ruts.

I thought last night was absolutely superb. If club speedway could have just 1/100th of the atmosphere of last night then local tracks would be packing them in week in week out. The presentation was spot on, the music was great (and loud, as it should be) and yes, there was plenty of drama, courtesy of Mr Pedersen, but as others have said, that's him job and the booing will be water off a duck's back to him.

A61
Forgot to mention this! The music was brilliant... bring them back at Coventry
Edited to add: by "music" I mean the songs played throughout the meeting, and not Belinda Carlisle's feeble attempt at miming!

Nevs
Thought it was great Bart,a little different to normal, with some great twists
I didnt make any comment on the night but my son looked up and said the musics a lot better this year Dad,certainly added something to the event and best of luck for future years

Star Lady
Only watched on TV but as I said on another thread, from what I could hear the music was great and fitted the events unfolding perfectly. The playing of Land of Hope and Glory as Bomber limped back to the pits was inspired and perfectly timed and IMHO is one of the outstanding moments of British displays of nationalism at a sporting event this year. It could only be done by someone who was on the ball and paying attention, something that's not always been obvious before when I've been at Cardiff GPs.

Spin King
I thought it was quite good, and the music was very appropiate for what was happening at the time.

Iffoid
Music definately added to the occasion and was appropriate. A great job - well done.

SCB
Generally spot on
Respect for the pick of music aimed at Nicki, especially as you're a Nicki fan Made a few of us giggle and at times sit open mouthed and question "Is he really playing that?"

Sky Blue Bee
Brilliant evening the music really added to the occasion and the decision to play Land of Hope and Glory as Bomber sorely got to his feet was inspirational. Heres hoping that those who make the decisions watched the crowds reactions to the music and you will be back next year. I also hope that those who make certain decisions at Brandon also noted the slick presentation. A VERY WELL DONE on adding to an already great British sporting occasion.

Paul R
Totally agree with those comments - the music at times really added to the sense of occasion. Dunno what the people at the top of block U19 were on but boy did they enjoy themselves - Im sure if the right music came on for a conga they would have got one going !!!
As for Shawns attempt at the Hokey Cokey...... ah the wonders of video record on a mobile phone ..........

Shortoi
Superbart - your music choice was fab, congrats!
I took a first timer with me and she chuckled away at the song choices all night and we agreed that it really brought an extra oomph to the atmosphere, which was a big part of what she enjoyed.
Helped to characterise some of the riders for a newbie too.

Kris B
Presentation definitely better this year, and loved the innovation. Great fun with different tracks for different winners or circumstances. You get my vote !

Lioness
I only heard what came over the telly but we were saying as we were watching it that whoever was doing the music deserved an award - it was superb, the most relevant I've ever heard, a touch of humour, obviously a lot of thought and as for when Chris Harris was walking back to the pits after breaking his nose, that was absolutly amazing. You could almost see him growing taller as he walked, I reckon it definitely gave him the lift he needed as well as the crowd.
Last time I was there is was the same boring 2 or 3 tracks all the time. This year we were listening more to the background at the end of races to see what little gem you were coming up with this time!
Well done mate, you'd definitely get my vote

Jacques
Up to your usual standard Bart, if not better... I can't believe you got away with the tune mentioned by SCB... I didn't realise you had been booked to do the presentation, until I recognised the songs you played a Coventry LAST year ...it all adds to the enjoyment so much more..
Well done I'd say.

Colin Cooke
Superb Chris mate, a top show & exactly what Brandon is missing this year amongst other things.
Hopefully those at the helm can see that if IMG like it, it's gotta be good.
Good luck for next year & beyond
Regards CC.

Shazzy Bird
Superbart many many congratulations loved all of the music, not an Australian fan but especially loved the Tie me Kangaroo down sport and the NickiP tune towards the end, very tongue in cheek but made everyone smile including Ronnie Russell was singing along to everything ..... really hoping next year you are back!!!!!

Concrete Cowboy
Personally i thought the presentation and music was excellent and exactly what Coventry has been missing this season.
Easily the best at any Cardiff g.p..
Loved the rider victory tunes, land of hope and glory for bomber, and particulary the Nicki P mickey takes.
I sincerely hope you are back at the G.P. next year and that the Bees management come to their senses.

40 – 38
I think the music was pretty good. I haven't been to Cardiff before yesterday to base it on anything else but I like the signature tunes for certain riders and the music in between was a hell of a variety, and most were the sort of songs that get people singing which certainly added to the atmosphere.

Doolan
LAND OF HOPE AND GLORY sent a shiver down my spine and i was at home

Gemini
Thoroughly enjoyed the G.P. It had everything - good racing, controversy, great music, incidents, sadness, strange decisions. I won't expand any further because everything has been covered already. Best man on the night won. WELL DONE JASON.

Gemini 2
I'm being lazy as I am still tired from yesterday's 3.30am return from Cardiff (not caught up with my sleep yet) so I will just repeat the post from Lioness, which covers what I would say.
Brilliant choice of music Superbart. The only thing missing was "Hey Baby." Perhaps in 2009 you could fit that one in somewhere as well?
Best presentation/music yet and you deserve to be back.

JT
I've mentioned it on another thread, the accoustics in the top tier (3rd bend) were awful, but this is surely a fault of the stadium sound system, not the DJ's.

Sandie
SB - I thought the presentation was brilliant and as others have said inspiring.
At times I felt like I was back at brandon in 2007
Brilliant
x

Chris Seaward
Hi,
Just a quick message to say that i thought the presentation last night was generally superb, a massive well done.
If i'm being picky, i would say probably go with more dance stuff 'darude, alex gaudino, moby, rogue traders, goldfrapp, fat boy slim, planet funk (chase the sun) e.t.c
However, that's just my personal opinion - everyone is different.
But overall, i thought you guys did an awesome job.
Congratulations.
Chris Seaward

Tiger Blues
Music was brilliant IMO, some awesome song choices and it really added to it all.

And btw.. me and lilmisstiger managed the Hokey Cokey

Lil Miss Tiger
Too Right
Excellent choice of music tbh!!
wizard of oz just made me giggle!!
i joined in for "Land of soap and glory, surf works hard in the wash" (Ahhh adverts nowadayss )
i seemed to know every song they played and every one made me want to get up and dance
All Added to the atmosphere!
oooohh and loved the choice of song for nikki p in the finall!! LEGENDARY x

Crazy Sue
I personally enjoyed it and thought the music was more apt than in previous years although there was a time when Chris and or Niels was still down on the track and light hearted music started playing which I thought was inappropriate.
The Land of Hope and Glory had me in tears especially when I looked around and saw all the flags waving.....
If I had a choice, I would prefer the music this year to previous years.

Babe 619
I enjoyed the music, especially Arctic Monkeys and the hokey cokey

Fairy Tasha
Music was amazing! Enjoyed it very much especially Agadoo! Think i scared Vog by knowing the dance to it! and the hokey cokey was great also! =)

Bee Bop
I thought the music/presentation was brilliant, made a comment on the night to the people I was with, certainly gets my vote for further GP's. It added to the enjoyment of the night for me and Land of Hope and Glory playing when Bomber was walking back to the pits after his crash was very emotional. Please come back to Coventry!

RickMiller
Musical links during racing: Very good. Was spot on apart from the Adams/Hancock 'dead heat'. Thought 'Land of hope and glory' was an inspired choice for Bomber's walk back to the pits. Agree it was a little too loud so it got distorted.

Andy P
I thought that it was superb.

By the way, music was excellent all night.

Bwitcher
Superbart,
I thought the presentation was absolutely first class. Took my brother along, who hasn't been to speedway since about 1989 when he was 8 years old. He loved every minute and commented on how the presentation and music was so much part of the show.
Just look at the interaction and reactions from the crowd to get your response.
1st class job, hope you get the gig again next year!

Grasser Girl
We thought the music in the stadium last night was fantastic - it had us in hysterics and was much better than in previous years.

Leanne 1706
Loved the majority of the music -
Born in the USA was great, perfect for Hancock.
Land of Hope and Glory sent shivers down my spine.
The choice of "fillers" was spot on - Arctic Monkeys, Chumbawumba (sp?)... brilliant!
Sometimes (and I stress, sometimes) just before the tapes went up we thought the songs switched about too much. We did say "how many songs is the DJ trying to fit in?!". But, having said that, they were all good songs!

London Witch
I used to love the music at Cardiff in the very early years, but not so much recently. I thought last nights presentation was excellent, and really added to the occassion. Nice one Bart.

Trees
Can't comment on the live music at Cardiff but from what I heard on the tv it sounded good and got the crowd going ..............

Peter
Although I wasn't there, overall I thought the choice of music was great and appropriate for what was going on. I can't understand why he isn't used at Coventry. Not too keen on the Black Box - Ride On Time tune but that's just my opinion. Superbart, have you got a tune called Sirius by Alan Parsons Project? It's here on YouTube. I heard it at a Swedish GP a few years ago and Wolves have played it too. A song that would be good to hear before a meeting is Republica - Ready To Go.

Algy
You can't please everyone but for me last night was not perfect (what is in Speedway?) but definitely the best music/presentation I've heard at Cardiff. A good variety, usually relevant, something for all ages. Those who want only modern stuff should look at the crowd around them, most of us wouldn't recognise anything if you did what they want.

Coventry Bee
Brilliant music !! It really added to the atmosphere and its really well thought out.
I hope Mr Trump listened and can see what a gem he could have. How can you not be at Brandon yet be at the years biggest meeting??
Well done again, top job

Seb the Snail
I thought that overall it was excellent, although even Belinda Carlisle sounded good after 4 hours in the PoW.
The proms bit was definitely the best, although there were plenty of other highlights too. Well done.
